Picking up your Hiker Trailer is an exciting day! All the research, YouTube videos, online builds, and months of patience during construction culminate in your first hands on experience with your new Hiker Trailer.  Our Pick Up Appointment guide can help make sure you're prepared with everything needed to make it quick and easy to start enjoying your Hiker Trailer.

Pick Up Appointment Guide:

Pick Up Prep-

Prior to pick up, you will have completed your Virtual Inspection with our team to ensure that the quality of your build meets your expectations and any last minute add-ons have been added to your order.  During your Virtual Inspection we will assist in confirming your Pick Up Prep checklist as follows:

  1. Hitch Type - We'll help make sure you're prepared with the proper hitch or can add one to your order if you don't already have one.  We do not offer any hitch installations or perform modifications to tow vehicles at this time.
  2. Hitch Height - Part of following the best practices for towing is to tow your trailer at a near even height with your tow vehicle.  Our team will help provide these numbers and help determine if any special rise or drop hitch may be needed.
  3. Tow Vehicle Connection - All Hiker Trailer models come with a 7-way round blade style connector, one of the most popular tow vehicle connections in the US.  If your tow vehicle doesn't have this connection, we can help get you the right adapter for safe towing and compatibility.

Payment / Titling-

Our titling department will assist with the following prior to pick up and after your Virtual Inspection appointment:

  • Titling your trailer
  • Providing your VIN number
  • Calculating your final payment amount and assisting with payment arrangements
  • Preparing final documents like your MSO, BOS, and tax forms.
  • Assist with securing financing through our partners or a third party.
  • Providing a Temporary Registration Tag for your trailer

Some of the documents may vary by state, which our team will also assist with.  All payments and documentation will need to be completed remotely through our main office prior to your pick up if it's taking place at one of our Remote Showrooms.  Payments at our main facility during your appointment are accepted, if arranged with our team prior.  Payments and paperwork required to purchase a Hiker Trailer via one of our certified dealerships will vary and we recommend contacting them directly for more information.

Pick Up Day-

Our team will have your trailer prepped and ready for you during your pick up.  We reserve an entire hour dedicated just to you and your new Hiker Trailer to ensure any remaining questions are answered, accessories are demoed, and paperwork completed.

Our team will gladly walk through all of your options, accessories, standard features, and maintenance tips so you can leave our facility with confidence in operating your new Hiker Trailer.  We will also help with your first hitch up to make sure you follow safety guidelines in securing your trailer to your tow vehicle and check your towing lights.

What to bring with you-

  • Proper tow vehicle with appropriate trailer connection
  • Proper hitch (if not provided by Hiker Trailers on your order)

  • Driver's License (of anyone listed on the title)
  • Final Payment (if not pre-paid)

Our team at Hiker Trailer strives to provide a consistent experience during your pick up.  Some of our Remote Showrooms pick up experiences will vary from this list as certain steps are completed prior to shipping your Hiker Trailer to their location.  Hiker Trailers delivered by a third party or directly to your door will unfortunately not be able to provide an in-person demo of your new Hiker Trailer.  We recommend asking your pick up or new ownership related questions during your Virtual Inspection if you elect for front-door delivery.
